NetworkTuna v1.0.9

Connection prompts one app at a time, a way to pause them, and quick decisions when many apps ask at once.

NetworkTuna 1.0.9 Beta makes connection prompts calmer when many apps ask at once. NetworkTuna now prompts for one app at a time, lets you pause new prompts, and applies your decisions right away.

Install this release over your current version. Your rules, settings and history are kept. The installers are digitally signed by DeinitLabs.

New features

  • When several apps ask to connect, NetworkTuna now prompts for them one at a time, oldest first. Each prompt has Allow, Deny and Details for that app and tells you how many more apps are waiting.
  • Pause new prompts for a while, from a prompt or from the Connection requests page. Apps that ask during a pause wait in the Connection requests list. The page shows when the pause ends and lets you end it early.
  • Details on a prompt opens the Connection requests page with that app's request, so the other waiting apps are right there when you close it.

Fixes

  • When many apps asked to connect at once, Allow and Deny could take a long time, and the NetworkTuna window could lose its connection to the service, so your decision failed and the prompts came back. Decisions now apply right away.
  • An app that kept retrying while NetworkTuna blocked it could disconnect the NetworkTuna window. The window now stays connected.
  • An app you had just allowed or denied could briefly reappear in the Connection requests list or be prompted again.
  • Several prompts on screen at once could shift as they closed, so a click could land on another app's Allow. Prompts now come one at a time, with a short wait after each decision.
  • With automatic approval of signed apps, NetworkTuna now checks an app's signature again right before allowing it, so a file replaced in the meantime cannot inherit an earlier approval.
