Release notes
BetaNetworkTuna v1.0.6
Allow rules respect other firewalls, clearer blocked apps on Overview, and much faster Statistics.
NetworkTuna 1.0.6 Beta makes NetworkTuna Allow rules work together with Windows Firewall and other firewalls, so allowing an app no longer overrides their blocks. Overview now shows clearly which apps were blocked and by what, Realtime shows what is connected right now in one click, and Statistics is much faster on long histories.
Install this release over 1.0.5. Your rules, settings and history are kept. The installers are digitally signed by DeinitLabs.
New features
- Overview now shows which apps were blocked, by what and when. An app blocked by several blockers, such as a NetworkTuna rule and Windows Firewall, gets one line for each, and every line opens the exact records in the Event log.
- The Event log keeps its filters behind a Filters button and shows the active ones as removable chips, including a new Blocked by filter.
- Realtime starts each list with tabs for everything, what is connected or open, and what is active now, each with a count. Direction, protocol, firewall setting, signature and app type are in a Filters panel, and the App column can be sorted.
- The Apps page keeps its filters behind one Filters button. Firewall setting now tells Ask apart from Not set, Signature offers both Signed and Unsigned, and the new-apps alert can list only the new apps.
- App details are more compact. Signature, Activity and Platform open as expandable rows, and the program path offers Show in folder and Copy path.
- Statistics can place the charts beside the breakdown and offers a compact header. Breakdown bars use the received and sent colors, and each row has a card with its traffic and actions.
- Address details in Statistics show where NetworkTuna found each name.
Fixes
- A NetworkTuna Allow rule could let an app pass a Block rule of Windows Firewall or another firewall, including Windows Firewall's default block of incoming connections. An allowed app now also needs those firewalls to allow it. NetworkTuna Block and the emergency stop still block on their own.
- Filtered statistics and long breakdown lists load much faster on computers with a long history. Scrolling to the end of a long list could take more than 10 seconds.
- Connection details in Statistics no longer repeat or skip rows that have the same value.
- With app control turned off, NetworkTuna no longer writes the same log line several times a second while its window is open.
- Clearing a Statistics filter after visiting another page now keeps you on Statistics.
