Beta

NetworkTuna v1.0.5

Clearer incoming activity on Overview, Windows services by name, and a faster service.

NetworkTuna 1.0.5 Beta makes incoming activity easier to investigate. Overview port details show which apps use a port and who connected to it, by name, and lead straight to the exact connection or its traffic history. Windows services now appear under the names Windows itself shows.

Install this release over 1.0.4. Your rules, settings and history are kept. The installers are digitally signed by DeinitLabs.

New features

  • Overview port details now group what NetworkTuna saw by app and name who connected to the port. Each row opens that exact connection on Realtime or its traffic history.
  • Port rows on Overview show the icons of the apps behind the port, so you can see who owns it without opening it.
  • Windows services now appear under their familiar names, such as DNS Client, instead of account names like NT SERVICE\Dnscache. App info shows the service name and description, and search finds a service by either name.
  • The Security event and Device details dialogs lead with a short summary and keep the details one click away.
  • If you start the installer made for a different processor, it now says so and names the installer to download.

Fixes

  • On computers with a long history, refreshing the app list could stall NetworkTuna for about 3 seconds. It now takes a few milliseconds.
  • Traffic of an app you just approved now counts toward that app right away, not only after NetworkTuna restarts.
  • App details no longer download the app icon again every time you open them.
  • The connection chart on Realtime appears right away instead of about 3 seconds late.
  • A very long program path no longer makes the connection details wider than the window.
  • Leaving the Devices page during a cleanup no longer lets you start a second cleanup by mistake, and the result is shown when you come back.
